Ava the character!  The other day Mike was getting Ava dressed to take Rylen to the school bus and he was helping her put on some knit pants.  She took the pants and pulled them all the way up to just under her chest and said "Look I'm grandma."  Mike said "do you mean my mom?"  "Yep, I'm grandma."  Be careful how you dress in front of her.
Yesturday I was asking the kids what they wanted to be for Halloween.  Ava said I want to be a ghost.  So we began to talk about how we would turn her into a ghost.  And then I asked Rylen what he wanted to dress up as.  He told me he wants to be ghost rider with red flame shooting off his hair and a chain.  Then Ava said "And daddy can be Barrak Obama".  I asked who? "Barrak Obama".  I just started to laugh!  What a character!

Rylen's first day of school!  He's making some new friends and becoming more adjusted to a full day of school.  No phone calls so far the last two weeks!  He came home today asking me about the presidents of the United States and wanted to know if they were real or not.  So we looked at pictures of past and present presidents and talked about how they became presidents.  He saw a picture of President Kennedy and he had his arms folded in pray and it gave me the chance to explain to Rylen that our country was founded by men who believed in God.  What a cool thing to explain to my son.

This is the New Home!!  I know there's not a lot of pictures of it.  Just a few of the hight lights.  We are getting settled.  Everything is unpacked just getting aquainted with the new area, new ward, new school for Rylen.  We love it!  I feel like I've gone from the little potty to the big potty.  I step in getting older!  (pinch. pinch)

This past friday Mike and I went hiking on Mt. Rainier with a couple of my coworkers.  (Tawyna and Amy)  It was a gorgeous day as you can see.  We made it to pebble creek, ate lunch and decided to head back down the Mt.  Along our hike we got to watch the landscape change.  We heard and watched several avalanches...thank goodness they were further up the mountain on the main glacier.  We saw a couple of deer and a brown bear eating berries just off the main trail.  I love this mountain.  It was amazing to get up on Rainier and enjoy one of God's beautiful creations.

First day of school!  First day of school!  So Rylen is attending a new school this year and starting all over with making new friends.  So far 1 good day at school and 2 bad.  He is a social  butterfly like his dad so hopefully making friends will not take long.  He has been testing his teachers limits though...Monday we get to call and talk with his teacher about his behavior on Friday.  We'll just say our prayers that he'll adjust soon and he will be back to his good old self.

Summer is just about over!  It is bitter sweet.  Because I love the sun and all of the fun things we can do in the summer such as hiking, camping, visiting the beautiful beaches and letting the kids out to stretch their legs.  I am looking forward though to a few new things this fall such as Rylen going back to school, Ava possibly starting preschool, and moving into a new home!  I strongly feel that our prayers were finally answered because of the faith of one little boy who as I knelt down in prayer with him one night asked Heavenly Father for a beautiful home with a yard and that we could be happy there.  I know Rylen's unaltered faith was a result in our finding this home.  It's beautiful, affordable, option to rent to own, in a great school district, now we just have to check out the ward.  It humbles me every night when he reminds me "Mom we forgot to say prayers".
